BEGIN QUOTE  I'm all for salsa exams as they are a good way of measuring how far your salsa has progressed  END QUOTE  I think most people are aware of how far they have progressed without needing exams.  BEGIN QUOTE  and you get lots of feedback about where you are going right, and going wrong.  END QUOTE  That's what your teacher should be giving you! And that's assuming there's a "right" and a "wrong", rather than "one way" and "another way".  BEGIN QUOTE  And you get a nice medal (or trophy) that you can show off to all your non-salsa friends!  END QUOTE  I stopped needing "gold stars" when I left infant school!  BEGIN QUOTE  However, I am also aware that these exams are basically a money making scheme for the UKA. Personally, I'm quite happy with that - good luck to them!  END QUOTE  They are a money-making scheme for the UKA and a bit of an ego massage for the student.
