 | | | | Keep asking! The bloke who said that by saying
"let's dance" rather than "would you like to
dance" is right... as a female dancer, I would
more likely dance with someone who did this.

That is weird, but true... I very early learned that if I say "Do you want to dance?" I get rejected, and if I say "Do you salsa?" I get accepted. This is true 95% of the time in Leeds where I do all my freestyling. I worry about coming across overbearing, but most women would prefer to be slightly overborne than dithered at it seems As to the other points about your leading style encouraging or discouraging partners: I genuinely believe that as long as the follower keeps counting and stays relaxed *everything* else is the leader's fault. If a partner looks nervous I tell her this and it really helps. I then try to dance to my partner's level (I don't tend to ask partners who are clearly loads better than me). If something doesn't work, it's time to drop your leading level, not give a lesson (unless she's receptive to a few pointers, i.e. has declared that she's not very good) | | | | Staring directly at my
boobs when asking also does not help!
