reach for her hand to lead her , she would
wait till i almost made contact then whisk it
away with a flourish, 1st couple of times i
put it down to styling after that i knew it
was intentional, shame really given half a
chance maybe she would have been suprised

Doesn't sound intentional to me, she probably didn't realise. Sounds to me like you weren't getting ready for the lead in time. You shouldn't be "reaching for her hand" you should be presenting your hand for her to take in plenty of time. Men often grab my hand and try to start a lead all on beat 1. I need you to have made it clear you want my hand well before beat 1. While I'm on the subject, the other thing that men do is hold out their hand, but do it in a way I can't see it and are then surprised that I don't take it. Anyway, I'm going to be styling by beat 1, so if you expect me to take your hand, you better get ready for me in plenty of time and then I'll take your hand and won't style with mine. A load of the time, you men blame us for doing something wrong, when you could sort it out by improving your lead and timing a bit.
