Then you shouldn't be spreading bad advice. The original question was a genuine cry for help. Did you honestly think you were helping?

I've had enough dislocated shoulders and twisted wrists on the dance floor not to find replies like yours funny.

Forgive me for wanting to remain alive after a dance.

Over and out.

The chap was joking. There are people that do what he says and it sounds like something that you have experienced. Maybe he should have stuck to just giving positive advice given that the person who asked the questions sounds fairly new to the scene. But I assure you he was only joking.

I have had this argument before about Irony on this site. Some people find this to be funny and some don't it's a cultural thing. In England one of the criticisms of Americans is that they don't get irony and my feeling is who cares? The point is it's simply a different way of looking at things. You are quite right to be angry at that response given your experience and the fact that the subject of getting people to dance with you when your starting out, can at times be an explosive topic . He should feel it's okay to joke but you were quite right to point out your concerns.
