Subject: How do I get women to dance?

I don't know how it compares to the other clubs in London, but when I went to SOS, I did get a lot more refusals than I'm used to getting in out-of-town salsa clubs. I'm inclined to agree with Pres that there are a lot of girls there that only want to dance with more advanced dancers.

I agree with everything that Pres has said about SOS, but I have to say that my experience there has always been very positive and I can't remember ever being turned down. And I have to say that I'm an "out of towner" who has only been there maybe a dozen times, and it's not like I've got a high profile in the London Salsa scene (I know I run this web site, but that's a pretty anonymous thing and loads of people I know, don't realise that it's me who runs this site).

It seems to me that there are loads more women than men at SOS and although they obviously want to dance with the superstar men, while those superstar men are busy they seem to be reasonably happy dancing with the rest of us

The other thing is that having all these superstar men and women there attracts other good dancers too, so the overall standard at SOS seems pretty high to me.

So, I'd still say that SOS seems (in my limited experience of the current London Salsa scene) the easiest place to get dances with some excellent dancers.

Cheers,
