The Ampersand club is a new venue for Salsa in Manchester on a Thursday night.
It's a modern, well decorated club, with a large dance floor and plenty of
space for sitting around and chatting.
I've been there a couple of times and there's a good atmosphere, with dancers,
teachers, DJs and promoters from various clubs, mixing together with no
attitude problems.
The music is supplied by resident DJ, Mike Chadwick (from Jazz FM)
together with a guest DJ each week. The first time I went, this was
Lubi (from Casa Latina) and the second time, it was Vic Suarez.
There seems to be a strictly Salsa music policy and the music has been pretty
uptempo on both times I visited.
